From Idea to  Venture
OpenBio Explore, in partnership with Nucleate Dojo, seeks to propel Harvard undergraduates' bio-related passions from ideation to impact. Our mission is to enhance exposure and streamline the pathway for these emerging innovators, providing them with the necessary knowledge bases and platforms.
The Program

In collaboration with Nucleate Dojo, OpenBio has launched the first in-person iteration of Explore, a 6-week bio venture series for undergraduates. This program combines seminars and hands-on experiences to guide students through the bio research + venture creation process, turning ideas into tangible ventures.

Explore introduces students to the biotech landscape, highlighting distinctions between biomedical and techbio companies. Participants learn about the role of Tech Transfer Offices in intellectual property commercialization, key industry considerations, and the responsibilities of scientific and executive co-founders. Additionally, the program covers venture capital strategies, including equity and fundraising, preparing students to enter the biotech field with the tools to succeed.
